The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word meaning “to yoke” or to unify; the deeper purpose of these practices is whole-self alignment through embodied movement. Therapeutic yoga incorporates the asanas (postures typically associated with yoga in the West) with pranayama (energy and breathwork) to facilitate healing mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Our facilitators also bring a trauma-informed approach to yoga, so that sessions safely encourage depth and release as needed.

In this monthly series we’ll draw upon specific breathing practices to facilitate an inner, meditative experience while actively engaging the body, through yogic breathing techniques, breath retention, Wim Hoff Method (WHM)-style exercises, rebirthing, and psychotropic-style breathwork. To enhance this immersive experience, we’ll also incorporate elements of Sound, including mantras, music, singing bowls, chimes, drums, and gong.

Nature as Teacher

For millennia it has been associated with purification, sacrifice, and healing, all of which link fire with the energies of transformation and expansion. When we spend time near physical fire, we give our energy fields a bath in energy and light, making it easier to relax into the warmth of presence. This workshop is about the esoteric secrets and power of elemental Fire. We’ll share space and meditate around a wood-burning fire, learn practices and breathwork related to elemental fire purification, and practice a fire-release ritual that you can implement on your own.

More info & register for Sacred Fire Circles

Our fire circles are held outdoors around an in-ground fire pit at Jasper State Recreation Site (~20 min SE of Eugene). Please bring a campchair/cushion/mat, water/tea to drink (if desired), and an optional notebook to capture any insights. Please plan to dress in weather-appropriate clothing as well.
