Nature as Teacher

Every day our minds and bodies draw upon the energies of air, fire, water, earth, and space. When we bring conscious attention to these natural forces, we tap into a wellspring of resource that can be drawn upon inside.  Join us for a ritual-centered breath-work-shop that deeply connects us to the spirit, flow, reflection, and balance of the elements both in and around us. This outdoor event will immerse you in the the power of breath, as we draw upon the natural community of trees, river, sky, moon, and more. (Plan to get wet, but only to the degree you’re ready and comfortable!)

This dynamic workshop will be a fusion of Ecotherapy, breathwork, and therapeutic ritual, in a natural setting. We’ll invite you to be in the river for a portion of this event, in a gentle section of the water no more than knee-deep. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe freely, that you can also get wet in, as well as shoes/sandals that you can wear in the river. We also recommend you bring a towel, a journal to capture insights, as well as a camp chair for when we aren’t in the water. We’ll have mats and some cushions/blankets, but feel free to bring your own materials for comfort as well.

WHO CAN / SHOULD ATTEND?

Our Nature as Teacher groups are designed to deepen our relationship with self, community, and the natural world. This programming is for anyone, ranging from frequent wilderness explorers to urban dwellers seeking connection with their local surroundings. Our Reiki & Sound and Breathwork Journey groups are designed to benefit both long-term practitioners as well as people brand new to embodiment practices. If you’ve ever been curious about effective, body-centered, mindfulness practices for greater health and healing, there’s something here for you! Our Honoring the Moon in Ritual and Archetypes & Inner Journeying  groups serve to deepen our connection with ourselves and with our community, through conscious, intentional practices. These circles are ideal for people looking to bring more intentionality to their lives through connection with nature, community, and more. Our Tending the Soul group will foster the connections within ourselves and with others, through the vehicle of Expressive Arts. Whether you find written and artistic practices effective for authentic being and expression, or you’re new to mandala and poetry and are curious about the process, we’d love for you to join us!

WHAT TO BRING?

For indoor circles and groups, there will be some yoga mats, pillows, and blankets available for use. Please bring personal yoga mats, cushions/pillows, blankets, etc to use for comfort and embodiment. For outdoor events and nature groups, please bring a cushion or chair to sit on and layered clothing to keep you dry, temperature regulated, and comfortable. There will be some outdoor yoga mats available for use. You might also consider bringing your own water, sunscreen, sun protection, insect repellent, and any other materials that will support your experience. For most, if not all events, you might consider also bringing a notebook and writing utensil. We’ll have these materials if required, but sometimes it’s nice to keep your insights and contemplations together in a journal you already utilize!

WHAT ABOUT COVID?

We take your health and safety seriously. We will continue to track county, state, and federal recommendations about Covid-19 precautions and respond accordingly. At this time, please note, we are honoring each person’s choice to manage their own Covid-19 risks: Masks are currently optional in our space and at our events. Please do not plan to attend in-person events if you have been sick with any type of symptoms or exposed to anyone who has been sick.
